A friend of mine, her father calls her, his daughter in love . This tender name evokes a sense of caring and inclusion to her and the other in laws. In another family, the spouses are called outlaws. The feeling connotes the tension that is found. In their family mom and dad and siblings are put before all others, including spouses. They are expected to choose their family of origin over their children and their mates. This can be a difficult position to be in. So, what is a person to do in such a situation? We are taught in Genesis 2:24 that "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
